The 2nd of April marked one of the most important dates the video games industry has seen in quite some time, owing to the big unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2 – showing us everything from the hardware, games and even the system’s release date. Unfortunately, much of what has been revealed so far shows Nintendo is squandering the good will it built up during the Switch 1 generation. 

Nintendo did not disappoint us with today's Direct stream. A new trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has released, showcasing more of the planet we'll be exploring and the aliens we'll have to take down in Samus's latest mission. 

ATLUS had a huge 2024 with the releases of Persona 3 Reload, Shin Megami Tensei V: Definitive Edition and Metaphor: ReFantazio. The studio is not slowing down in 2025, with another new game now on the way - Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. 

Though yet to be officially announced, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will reportedly be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.

Nintendo officially announced the Switch 2 console today, but the company confirmed few technical details. One of the things Nintendo did quickly confirm was the addition of backwards compatibility, meaning Switch 1 games will work on Switch 2. However, there will be some exceptions. 

More high-profile Xbox exclusives are set to go multi-platform this year. Halo, Hellblade and Gears could all be heading to PS5 and the Nintendo Switch 2.
